This film is appropriate for many different audiences including classroom presentations, training teen activists, community youth groups, and women survivors of domestic violence seeking ways to talk to their teenage children about dating violence. Scenes in this film depict verbal, emotional, physical and sexual abuse, as well as depicting the potential for friends to intervene and challenge violence. This film juxtaposes these scenes of relationship abuse with actual footage of teen activism in Novato, California. Through music, posters, peer education programs and demonstrations, the teens speak out against rape, child molestation and relationship violence. The 43-page study guide includes classroom exercises for three sessions on relationship violence, handouts, statistics, and additional resources, as well as the story of how abuse - No Way! was made by TC's Teen Community Action Team. The process of making this film was highly transformational for the teens involved, their families and their peers at the high school. Currently, domestic violence is perceived to be wide-spread after all, public opinion polls show that Americans believe almost half of all boys will physically abuse their partners at some point. Domestic violence is no longer "unheard of." Still, domestic violence continues to be tolerated and denied in our communities. This 16 " x 24" poster shows four proud teenage boys of varying ethnicities wearing football jerseys, posing for a high school yearbook picture with their teammates. The Growth Chart shows a graphic representation of stereotypical male conditioning which is juxtaposed with images of growing boys from six years old to eighteen years old, from diverse ethnicities. Examples of the "messages" of male conditioning that boys receive, as shown on the poster include: "Make the decisions", "Take charge", "Be the provider", "Win at all costs", etc. The "messages" are lined up along the three boys bodies as they stand along the chart which presumably measures their height but actually reveals their stage of socialization.
